Introduction

After the first three conferences with a very positive response from the participants, the Slovak Chemical Library in Bratislava, University Library in Bratislava and University of Žilina continue with the fourth conference to bring Libraries from all over Europe and special from the new EU countries together.
The target of the conference is to share the best practices around global standards in large data set and metadata preservation of the research and cultural heritage materials.

Main Objective s of the conference :

• to inform professional community from libraries, museums, galleries, archives, audio and video creation about the trends in the area of digitisation, preservation and making access to digital data
• to present successful projects realised locally and in other countries, which can serve as an inspiration for the competent institutions in Slovakia and the Czech Republic
• to present technologies used as solutions for tasks associated with digitisation and accessibility of digital content on the Internet
